One of my all time favorite design tricks for interiors is the deft use of mirrors. Unfortunately, the proposal of mirror attached to wall quickly conjures up the poor treatment displayed proudly in the 1970's. Mirrored walls have a rich and powerful provenance -from overly elaborate mirrored halls of Versailles, to the gracefully chic faceted mirror staircase in the Chanel Atelier, to the sophisticated mirrored bathroom of Miles Redd. Give mirror a chance.

For those of us who aren't fortunate enough to live in Versailles, Chanel's atelier, or Redd's bathroom there is a simpler option -mirrored screens:

Miles' mirrored bathroom is the best mirrored space of all time.

I am all about the mirror and marble! It looks like heaven! It only requires some bubble bath and strawberries.

ReplyDeleteI WANT HER BAD.
A beautiful feature, excellent choice of mirror-themed visuals. Now how iconic is that Chanel staircase? And Miles Redd -- will you be charitable and lend him out after the wedding night...?
ReplyDeleteBest,
Michael
Why am I so bad at following up with kind comments...? Well, better late than never?

Custard by Design -You're absolutely right.
Crystal @ Plush Palate -Thanks! I'm glad you liked the post. Mirrors certainly can act as a catalyst for stellar interiors.
Jason -Don't we all?
Mr. Michael Mattison -Thank you for stopping by my modest little blog, and for the kind compliments. I am, generally speaking, a charitable sort of guy. Lucky for you I tend to move on rather quickly from one feigned romance to another.
